NB2 Hiphop Club in Hongdae
Locate a bar or restaurant for the pregame, like Bibimbap. Be 19 years old or older. Most clubs requirement to get in, so take your time J. Warm cloths, coz it might take a while to get into the club. There’s no need for bringing a purse with you if you are a girl. But do bring a friend with you, because the guys can be quite aggressive. Prepare for a generous definition of HipHop music in the club. Check the entry fee on the website.
Not enough sleep. Parties in Seoul can go on till in early morning hours. flipsflops and crogs are a no go.
Go to Hyehwa station, transfer to the green line at Dongdaemun History & Culture Park and get out at Hongik Univ. station (Take exit 9). NB2 (Mapo-gu, Seokyo-Dong 362-4)
The subway close at 23.30 pm, so you need to take a taxi back home
We had our pregame in Bibimbap, where we had some Cass beer along with Kimchi Pancake (Kimchi-Jeon) and Boribab. I should give you a heads up regarding Bibimbap, when you enter it the first time it feels like you’re invading some body’s home. Don’t worry, just go in. It’s a really inexpensive place with traditional and delicious food. We headed to Hongdae around 10pm. The sub was quite full, but not surprising on a Friday night. Hongdae is always crowded, so prepare for that. Usually there are quite a lot of street performances, but it was too cold for us to look for any. So we went straight to NB2. We got there at around 11pm, to our luck there was no line (exam period might be the reason). Entry fee was 10’000 won. We didn’t expect how crowded the club was inside. The NB2 had an underground industrial feel to it. No pun intended, coz the club was literally underground (Noise Basement). It was one main dancefloor and another smaller one. The atmosphere was good, some ppl were having a dance battle going. What was bothering me though was the music. At times it clearly wasn’t HipHop. And another thing that might faze ppl is the cleanness of the club, especially in the toilets. Just be warned. Other than that we had a great time, lots of great dancer there. The mood was good, no aggression. Just a few desperate guys on the hunt. Finding a taxi back proofs to be a challenge. There were a lot of taxis on the street, but for some reason they wouldn’t pick us up. So we walked to the main street and after 20min we could find a taxi driver willing to give us a lift back.
