Today we are getting to know our Guest Victoria from Canada a little bit more. She is on a vacation traveling around the world and her first stop is here at Backpackers INISDE! I asked her why she chose to come to Korea first and she told me that back in Canada she has a lot of Korean friends and when they meet, they usually visit the Korea town in Toronto. (Our it’s more like she demands them to meet up there haha) There she has tried a lot of different Korean foods, and she loves it, but her Korean friends told her she should go to Korea to experience and taste the real authentic foods there instead. So because of her friends always talking about all the amazing things you can do in Seoul and all the tasty food you can have, for a lot cheaper price then in Canada, Korea has always been first on her list of countries in Asia she wanted to visit, so because of that she chose to go to Seoul first.
Victoria’s tip to people visiting Seoul for the first time is to not be afraid of getting “lost”. That way you could find and experience things in Seoul that you wouldn’t have been able to see otherwise and talk with locals in case you don’t find your way, they are very helpful. She loved to just take her time and walk around and absorb the environmental. She also enjoyed learning about the culture because it is very different to her own. “Don’t be afraid to go in to a Korean restaurant, even if you don’t know how to read the menu. That way you can try something new you never seen before.” Because Victoria herself loves spicy food all Korean dishes she tried were really great. One of her favorite was Hangover soup haejangguk.
The reason she chose to stay here at Backpackers INISDE was because of the guesthouse great reviews on TripAdvisor. The guesthouse also has a really good location if you want to explore Seoul buy foot or bike, cause alot of the most famous places, like palaces and museums are very close. Hanging out and meeting new people here at INSIDE was one of her favorite experiences and she made a lot of new friends. It is perfect if you travel alone and want to meet some new and interesting people cause the people at INISDE are all of the same mindset and easy to talk and hangout with. The staff is also very nice and helpful and can help you with Subway cards and maps and things to do.
The only thing she regrets is that she only stayed for 5 days here in Seoul and recommend other travelers to stay longer, so that they have more time to explore without feeling any stress. There is just so many things to do. After here stay here she is going to continue her travels across Asia and Europe and if she can she wants to come back to Seoul real soon. Learning Korean is also something she really wants to do know.
Thank you for staying here at Backpackers INSIDE Victoria and we hope to see you again soon~~ Safe travels! <3
