Had a great day checking out Olympic Park with my new friend Eddy from Beaverton Oregon. In 1988 Seoul hosted the summer Olympic Games making it the first time the Olympics took place in mainland Asia. At that time South Korea was considered a developing country and the government wanted to use the Olympics to bring international attention to South Korea. 159 countries participated in the event with the Soviet Union taking home the largest amount of medals.
Today it is used as a historical and cultural landmark as well as hosting a variety of events and exhibits. It's pretty large so you can sign up for a tour, rent a bike, or simply walk around. It's a great place to escape from the busy city and enjoy some fresh air.
Location It's about a 40 minute metro ride from INSIDE to Mongchontoseong (line 8). Once there get out at exit 1 and you will be able to see the entrance.
