Hi! This is Sanna writing again and this time I wanted to tell you all little more about myself and why I chose to move to Korea and stay here at Backpackers INSIDE.
I first came to Korea from Sweden to study the Korean language back in the beginning of 2015. I had been studying Japanese earlier and always thought I would want to study Japanese in Tokyo, but after I traveled to both Seoul and Tokyo back in 2013 I found Seoul to be a much more interesting and dynamic place. Seoul fitted me better as a person and I wanted to learn and explore more about the culture while making new friends. On top of that it is less expensive to live and study in Seoul compared to Tokyo.
So in the beginning of 2015 I finally made it back to Seoul and started to study Korean at Sogang University. It was a really exciting and fun time. Sogang language program main focuses is speaking and I really think that speaking with people and learning the language through everyday conversation is the best way to go about it.
I have tried living in a lot of different areas of Seoul, from Sinchon to Itaewon to Hapjeong and Seoul Station. I also tried a lot of different living options. I started with having my own apartment. It was very nice, but it got quite expensive and sometimes even lonely cause I was staying there by myself. Therefore I tried staying at a share house for a while, but the one I lived in didn't have a proper common area and one of my room mates wasn't cleaning properly so the house got dirty very fast.
So now after one year of studying the Korean language I have learned a lot, but in order to continue to learn even more outside of school, I thought that living/working at a Guesthouse would be a really great way to develop more. The first guesthouse I stayed at was close to Seoul Station. I was very disappointing, because that place was more like a Hostel, and the guests that arrived weren't really interested in socializing that much. Their main focus was shopping. So I was very happy when i finally came across Backpackers INISDE here in Hyehwa. I always liked the area around Hyewah station and really wanted to explore the neighborhood some more.
Backpackers INSIDE was all that I wanted in a guesthouse. A warm and welcoming atmosphere, interesting and funny guests that want to explore and make friends and the owners Mia and Min are really amazing people and they make everyone feel like one big family. So if you want to experience more of Korea and make friends at the same time I highly recommend staying here at Backpackers INSIDE. It's much more fun then a Hotel or a Hostel that's for sure. Hope we will meet soon! ^___^
